JOCKEYS CONFIRMED FOR EUROPEAN JOCKEYS' CUP

For Czech-based racegoers, the big event this weekend will be the European Jockeys’ Cup, at Prague Velká Chuchle on Saturday. However, Merano racecourse in northern Italy is also putting on a big event this weekend, over fences, with plenty of Czech participants.
Saturday, September 24th is European Jockeys’ Cup day at Prague Velká Chuchle racecourse. Last year’s inaugural EJC day was a major success.
The first three-day Festival of Swedish Racing was held at the new Bro Park racecourse in Stockholm on September 9th – 11th, with two major race days and a yearling sale.
Goscater, comfortable winner of the September qualification race for the Velka Pardubicka, has had a setback and will not be supplemented for the big race on October 9th.
The programme of races for the Velka Pardubicka meeting on Saturday, October 8th and Sunday, October 9th has been changed for the better this year.
Delight my Fire, trained by Radim Bodlák, did not defend her title as winner of the Wielka Wroclawska, the biggest steeplechase of the year at Wroclaw racecourse, but she confirmed her quality by taking 2nd place. Her trainer, Radim Bodlák, did not hide his satisfaction with the French-bred mare.
Twenty-eight Czech- and Slovak-trained horses have fulfilled the qualification requirements for the Velka Pardubicka (assuming that Goscater will be supplemented for the race). Their current rankings are as follows:
