European Jockeys’ Cup day at Velká Chuchle is on Saturday

Saturday, September 24th is European Jockeys’ Cup day at Prague Velká Chuchle racecourse. Last years inaugural EJC day was a major success. This year again a number of top European jockeys will be in Prague, and there will be some good races.

Declarations to run will be made on September 20th, and jockeys will be allocated in a ceremony on September 21st. This year again, there have been generous sponsors, and our owners have made their top horses available for the main races. The projected meeting of Trip to Rhodos and Meandre over 2 600 metres in the EJC Long Elko Electric Stakes will be a highlight. Shamalgan and Chardonney Tcheque may meet over 1 400 metres in the EJC Million Leram Stakes. However, Shamalgan is also entered for the EJC Middle Lokotrans Slovakia Stakes, over 1 800 metres, which is probably a better distance for him. These four older horses will need to be near their distinguished best, as they will also be up against high-quality younger horses. The EJC 80th running of the Loko Trans Gerscha Memorial, over 1 400 metres, will bring together this year’s most promising 2-y-os.

A number of interesting horses trained outside the Czech Republic are among the entries for this outstanding race day.

Note that the race day is Saturday, September 24th, and the first race is at 12 midday.
